Delete
your account

Effective August 17, 2026

You can delete your SoFar account, and everything in it, from inside the app. It takes about ten seconds and you don't need to ask us for permission.

In the app

  • Open SoFar and go to your Profile tab.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap Delete account.
  • Confirm. That's it.

What happens

What gets deleted

Your profile, name, username, photo and bio. Every place you rated and everything you wrote about it. All of your collections, itineraries, trip and flight details. Every photo you uploaded. Your direct messages. Your follows and followers. Your saved places. Your notification token and any contact-matching records.

All of it is removed within 30 days. Most of it goes immediately.

What doesn't

If someone else saved one of your places into their own collection, that copy stays with them — it's their content now, and it no longer carries your name.

Anonymised analytics that can't be traced back to you stays in our reporting for up to 14 months.

Purchase and tax records for any SoFar Pro subscription are kept as long as accounting law requires. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription — cancel that in your Apple or Google account settings first, or you'll keep being charged.

If you can't get in

Locked out, or deleted the app already

Email privacy@sofartravels.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We'll confirm it's you, delete everything above, and email you when it's done. Expect a reply within 30 days, usually much sooner.
